This lioness with her cub had injured her paw after making a kill. The lions got distracted away from the kill because a truck got stuck in the mud nearby. This is just near the sand river after Keekorok in August 2006

Masai Mara

We spotted two lionesses hunting at dawn, they were stalking a waterbuck. This was near a lugga with lots of bushes. As we drove nearer a whole pride of other lions charged out of the lugga and chased the 2 lionesses out of their territory. The alpha male kept roaring for nearly an hour and this amazing sound carries far and loud in the early morning stillness.
